The eustachian tube, which balances the pressure in the middle ear, may lose function over time due to various reasons. In this case, patients generally experience symptoms such as a feeling of fullness in the ear, frequent ear infections, autophony of breathing and hearing problems. For people with loss of function in the eustachian tube, drug treatment is the priority. However, if the disease progresses or drug treatment fails, surgical intervention is performed on the eustachian tube. One of these surgical interventions is balloon tuboplasty. The eustachian tubes of patients who undergo balloon tuboplasty are expanded with the help of a balloon and treatment is provided with other interventions following this procedure. The complete recovery process after balloon tuboplasty treatment takes up to 1 month. Although the 1-month recovery process seems long, balloon tuboplasty is a very effective intervention for successfully completing the treatment of the loss of function that occurs.
