Symptoms of Middle Ear Fluid Accumulation

Symptoms such as a hissing sound in the ears, similar to a blocked sensation as if wearing headphones, tinnitus, hearing loss or muffled sounds, dizziness, and balance disturbances are among the signs indicative of fluid accumulation in the middle ear. The indicators of middle ear fluid can be discerned on graphical representations. In younger children, it is more likely that they are unable to express any discomfort related to illness. It is difficult to observe fluid accumulation in the middle ear in children unless there is prolonged and severe ear involvement.
